Crystal Anasazi first discovered her talent for music at the young age of 6, when she enjoyed playing the piano by ear. Noticing her ear for pitch, Crystal's first grade music teacher taught her to read sheet music after school and encouraged her to play the French Horn, so she accepted the challenge and within a few years earned her place in the Massachusetts Central Disctrict Band. Years later at age 16, she saw her first live DJ performance that included Mix Master Mike and DJ Icey. It was from that moment a new DJ was born...

Under the alias DJ Kokopelli, Crystal started mixing underground electronic music (mostly breaks) and funky old school hip hop, catering specifically to break dancers at that time in 1999. As an audio engineering student at the Art Institute of New England, Crystal always networked with artists, DJs, and other music professionals and immersed herself in as many audio conventions as possible, including AES. This led her to come to Miami for the first time at age 22 to check out the Winter Music Conference, where all the biggest producers and DJs of electronic dance music meet annually. She fell in love with Miami's urban beach lifestyle and immediately decided to take her musical talents down south. Upon moving to Miami in 2005, Crystal first started working for DJPeoples as an administrative assistant and DJ. Although she now DJs under the name "Crystal Anasazi" instead of "Kokopelli," she kept her old name for her business Kokopelli Productions. Her client base continued to expanded over the years, leading to a wide variety of gigs including night clubs, lounges, yacht parties, private celebrity events, fashions shows, corparate, retail, weddings, etc. Her versatility and ability to mix anything from open format to house and all genres in between has given her the title of "Miami legend," according to the Miami Herald.
